Internship/Fellowship
DESCRIPTION
- This is a summary of what one can anticipate during this program. Our program can be summer or 12-months.
- Participation in the life of the church as a member of the pastoral staff. This means participation in the weekly staff prayer meeting and lunch.
- Broad pastoral ministry exposure primarily through participation. This will include assimilation of new members (Inquirers’ Class); stated/regular services of the church; shepherding members (Care Groups); church discipline procedures; visiting the afflicted, bereaved, elderly or shut-in; Christian Education broadly & Sunday School specifically; special services of the church (weddings/funerals); and polity in action (Session and congregational meetings). For each of the listed, he will submit a summary of his observations and conclusions.
- A focused ministry target, either youth, college or young professionals.
- Opportunity to take seminary courses during the internship at your own initiative, one per semester.
- Directed study with reports as supervised by the pastors.
