Evening Worship at Point Pleasant begins May 27
About Our Church
The authority of the word of God, symbolized by the massive mahogany pulpit, remains the focal point of its ministry.
God is a triunity (Trinity) of persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is infinite, holy, and love.
Scripture is true.
Jesus Christ is Messiah, Savior, and Lord.
Salvation is a gift of God to those who believe.
The Holy Spirit is our divine Comforter, Convictor, and Transformer.
The Church is the community of believers.
How we do Church:
Our church government is representative.
Our leaders are pastors and elders.
We have two sacraments, baptism (infant and believer’s) and the Lord’s Supper.
We are independent: we belong to no denomination.
How We Worship:
Worship is the most important thing we do.
Our aim in worship is to glorify God.
Our worship consists of the Word of God read, preached, sung, and prayed:
We read systematically and preach expositorily through books of the Bible.
We sing Psalms and biblical hymns.
We are committed to a full diet of prayer, praise, thanksgiving, confession, and petition.
Our gatherings for worship are on the Lord’s Day.
Our morning and evening services follow the practice of morning and evening sacrifices, the pattern of piety for the people of God.
We administer the Lord’s Supper monthly.
