Terry Johnson, Senior Minister

Pastors_JohnsonTerry was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. His home church was Baptist, his sport was baseball, and his favorite class was history. As an undergraduate at the University of Southern California, he continued to play baseball and study history. But he also began to grow spiritually and over time sense a call to the gospel ministry. This led to two years at Trinity College, Bristol, England (an Anglican theological college), two years at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, and ordination in the Presbyterian Church in America. After 5 years in Coral Gables, Florida as an assistant minister, Terry married the former Emily Billings, and within 6 months they moved to Savannah to take the call of the Independent Presbyterian Church, which they have served since 1987. They have five children: Drew, Sam, Sally, Abby, Ben. Terry is the author/compiler of the Trinity Psalter and Leading in Worship, and author of The Family Worship Book, Catechizing Our ChildrenThe Parables of Jesus, Contemporary Worship, Worshipping with Calvin, Serving with Calvin (released Autumn 2015), Reformed Worship, The Case for Traditional Protestantism, Galatians: A Mentor Expository Commentary, and the trilogy, When Grace Comes Home, When Grace Transforms, and When Grace Comes Alive. Ron Parrish, Associate

Ron Parrish has served on the staff of IPC as an Associate Pastor since 1995. His childhood and youth were spent in the small middle Georgia town of Greensboro where he graduated from High School in 1969. During the years 1970 – 77, Ron pursued his education in Jackson, MS; first at Belhaven College (B.A.‘73); and then at the Reformed Theological Seminary (M.Div. ‘77). Ron was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1978 and has served churches in Alabama, Virginia, Florida and Georgia. He is married (1979) to Donna (nee Evans) of Hamilton, Ontario Canada. Tim Foster, Associate

Tim Foster joined the pastoral staff of I.P.C. in 2006 after completing his seminary education. He was ordained and installed as an Assistant Pastor in 2007. Tim’s responsibilities include preaching on Sundays and Wednesdays for our midweek Bible study, teaching in our adult Sunday school program, providing oversight for our shepherding ministry, and conducting pastoral visitation and counseling. He also serves on the Candidates and Credentials committee of the Savannah River Presbytery. Tim is a graduate of Bob Jones University (B.S. ’01), Reformed Theological Seminary (M. Div. ’06), and Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia (D. Min. ’17). Tim is married to Caroline, and they have two children. Contact Tim at tfoster@ipcsav.org.

Tim Shaw, Assistant

Tim joined the pastoral staff as an intern in 2015 after his seminary education, and then was ordained and installed as an Assistant Pastor in 2017. Tim’s responsibilities include teaching in our adult Sunday School program, our Thursday Night Bible Study for young professionals, and our Drug Court Bible Study on Sunday afternoons. His primary responsibility is to shepherd our Young Professional’s Ministry and oversee our College Ministry yet takes part in the general visitation and counseling ministry of the pastoral staff, as well as occasionally preaching on Sundays. Tim is a graduate of Wheaton College, IL (B.S. ’11) and Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div. ’15). Tim is married to Abigail, and they have two children. Contact Tim at tshaw@ipcsav.org.
